Let me tell you this immediately. Revlon ColorStay Overtime Lipcolor was such a disappointment!! They claim this product gives you 16 hours of comfortable wear and moisturizing shine. But it’s really not the case… Instead it’s drying, uncomfortable and heavy on the lips!
I don’t even know where to begin… But let’s get it going.
Revlon ColorStay Overtime Lipcolor Consistency
For me, the consistency of this product varies. It’s quite odd because the variant that clearly said “sheer” was more opaque than the product I had that wasn’t supposed to be sheer. Every time I tried to apply this product it became so streaky! What a total pain…what a complete and utter pain.
As I’ve said, the sheerness of the product was a pain!! Applying it was difficult with the doe foot applicator—getting an even application was next to impossible. I also had trouble applying the color within the lines of my lips. As you can see, I have many frustrations with this product (you can tell by the number of exclamation points! Haha).
I noticed with this product that it really accentuates the imperfections in my lips. It settles in fine lines and really accentuates dry flakes on lips. After a while the lip color dries and it becomes sticky and tacky, at which point I apply the clear gloss.
The shine of the clear gloss further accentuates the dry flakes and imperfections on my lips. I like the finish it gives, but to me it feels quite heavy on my lips, and rather uncomfortable. I wanted to take it off the moment I put it on. The longer I wore this, the clearer it became that this was not for me.
REVLON COLORSTAY OVERTIME LIPCOLOR Staying Power
Overall, Revlon ColorStay Overtime Lipcolor was really disappointing to me.
The staying power of this product is so-so. For a product that is supposed to last hours upon hours, I found that this started disappearing after a meal. It becomes sticky so I have to reapply the gloss, but at that point I’m left with patches. Then I’ll have to apply the lip color again, but it’s so hard to get even so I end up with patches, and the cycle begins.
It’s also difficult because every time the product begins to wear off, my lips feel clumpy, sticky, heavy and generally UNCOMFORTABLE!
The only time the staying power of this product impresses me is when I’m trying to rub it off. It’s hard to get the color off without some sort of makeup remover, but what’s the point in wearing this if it gives me a headache just trying to work with it, right?
REVLON COLORSTAY OVERTIME LIPCOLOR Effect
I would say that this product is a dud for me. I have to constantly reapply, which shouldn’t be a problem for a long-lasting formula! They claim it should last all day, but for me it can’t even get past a meal. I shouldn’t even be having trouble applying it to begin with, but the formula is so inconsistent that I have to keep running the applicator over my lips to get even coverage—but I can’t! For a product that I really expected would work great, I became really disappointed—especially since I love most all of Revlon’s products!
