As a hardcore concealerholic, I demand A LOT out of my concealers. Concealers should conceal imperfections without destroying my skin. It should not contain any pore-clogging ingredients. Like most au naturale ladies out there, I hate cakey finishes or anything that creases, especially at the under eye area. But while I’m at it, heavy-coverage please.
SPF is great to have but not entirely necessary (SPF 50 as base is a definite part of my makeup regime). Most importantly, it needs to stay-put and not budge AT ALL the entire day. Yes, this lady doesn’t like touch-ups. So what’s the concealer that meets all my needs?

This one product does it all. It conceals any part of your face like a dream. It has heavy-coverage yet doesn’t cake, stays put, conceals so well yet doesn’t make your skin feel all cloggy and disgusting after you take it off. Pro Gel is also talc and oil-free.
The staying power of this silicon-resin based concealer is nothing short of amazing. This concealer survived all-day outdoor sweltering hot, humid tropic weather and came back looking just like it was freshly applied hours ago. Shu Uemura claims it is waterproof. Let’s see how waterproof it under 2 minutes of running water.
This Shu concealer is one hellva a concealer. It’s so bad ass that It simply refuses to budge! I have tried Mac Studio Finish concealer which has a similar consistency and coverage. While I really liked how Mac Studio Finish has added SPF 35, it caked big time on my under my eyes.With Shu’s Pro Gel, I pat it under my eye, (buildable coverage) and it doesn’t feel all tight and suffocating. Most of all, it really lasts! No touch ups at all after 8 hours wear in a hot, humid climate. With oily skin and this unforgiving weather,I think that Pro cealer is really holy grail material.
I’m Mac20, the Shu Uemura SA tried several shades on my under eye and found 5YR M (Rich Sand) to be the ideal match for me. This product used to be in a flat plastic holder which was more finger-friendly compared to the new round glass tubs. The glass container can be bulky for travel but it does look sleek on the dressing table. Considering its performance, the packaging is something I can definitely over look. One can hope that Shu Uemura will forever carry this product or maybe try adding SPF to it without changing its velvety consistency.
