The Adele Make-up Tutorial
Adele’s look at the Grammy’s was just so timeless that I just had to do a tutorial here in MakeupMew. A lot of celebs have been doing the look too, not just Adele, so I thought, “Let’s set fire to the rain and do this! ” And you know what the best thing is about this look? It’s really simple to do that you can be Adele-in-the-Grammy’s ready in no time.

Overview
Let’s begin with a plan in mind so you guys can see how many steps are involved. We are going to concentrate on: doing a plain face, with heavy eyeliner and lashes, contouring on the cheeks and on the eye lids, a warm blush and then the glam red lips. That’s basically it and you do not need a lot of fancy-pancy cosmetic items to replicate the look.
Step 1: The Plain Face
As always, this is like prepping your canvas for a work of art. Start with foundation. Apply it all over your face with either a beauty sponge or a foundation brush. You have to make sure that you blend everything evenly. The best way to getting a really natural foundation finish is applying the right shade and blending evenly.

Are you done yet? Now set it by lightly dusting powder on your face.
Step 2: The Heavy Eyeliner and Lashes
If this were a sentence, this would be the exclamation point. I’ve seen this look on Katy Perry and Nikki Minaj. Talking about the thick liner and dramatic lashes look — also the minus a whole lotta eyeshadow look. All you have to do is line your eyeliner thicker than usual, making it a bit longer, with just a tiny flick outward.

Don’t forget to fill in your brows! My brows are really thick (I’m actually growing them out so I can reshape them) so I just filled them in with brow powder.

Now, to the lashes. I’m not sure what Adele has on but if you don’t have the ones she’s got, you could try doubling your false lashes, layering one on top of the other to make them more feathery and thicker.

You probably need a few minutes to get the hang of this part. Putting on a falsies can be tricky.
TIP: Do not put your lashes on as soon as you’ve applied the glue. Wait for 30 seconds or less so the glue is stickier.
What I did for the lashes: I trimmed the lashes so they fit the length of my eye. I had about 3/4 of the lash as an excess. What I did was glue that excess at the end of my eye to make that part look thickest. DRAMA, right?!
Step 3 and 4: Contouring and Applying blush
When we say contouring it means shaping your face with the use of a color that’s 3 shades darker than your original skin tone. This creates shadows so your face appears smaller. For this look, we are going to contour the sides of the cheeks using a fluffy brush. Trace a number 3 starting from your forehead, to your cheeks and then to your chin.

Step 5: The Glam Lips
My lips are already plump so I’m really thankful for that. I just lined them with lip liner and then applied my favorite lipstick from Revlon (I think it’s called RED HOT, if I’m not mistaken). I couldn’t find something matte-er so I went for this one. Adele has a more matte red on so go for that when you have a matte red lippie.

And that’s it! Can you believe it? You are done! You’ll probably have something that looks like this:

All you have to do is remember the elements: The Eyes, The Cheeks, The Lips and you’ll be fine. If you want something less dramatic, check out my Ditta Von Teese Tutorial. I’m getting you guys ready for Halloween. What do you guys think?

Wow! Looks really amazing.
You got that FLICK perfect, I always make a freaking mess.
Hi Peta,
Try this: Draw a slanting line from the end tip of your eye to where you want your “flick” to end. Now go to the tip of the flick end and then connect that to the rest of your eyeliner. Check out a few youtube videos. That’s how I learned actually
Glad you like it…
